Told By a Tooth (1939) short 10:26 [USA]

Very strangely primitive (ok, maybe it WAS 1939 but wouldnt they have learned anything?) film about how important it was to take care of your teeth, Narrated by a scary looking animated tooth, the film is essentially a telling of how to take care of your teeth. Er, especially when a large one is in your living room. Waiting for you to feed it. Shirley Temple look-alikes preferred please. Make sure you exercise them regularily (by chewing crunchy foods! Not soft ones!) and of course, make sure you brush. But, uh, couldnt they make brushing your teeth a LITTLE more fun, instead of the zombie-looking girl they had for these shots? Just wondering.

Funniest part is I think they were being serious with this film that is impossible to take seriously.

I didn't realize how many of these films were at the archives. Thanks phuzzy. :thumbsup

They were dead serious and that's part of what make these films enjoyable to watch again. I remember being forced to watch many of these all through gradeschool. Middle-schoolers weren't subjected to this kind of torture so much. Now, some of these are kind of fun to watch.

I've got another dozen or so ready to go but I'm spacing them out to 3 or 4 a day. Some of these are truly awful, some are pretty good, some are 'interesting', and some I downloaded but won't post because they're worthless or off-topic. I've hesitated to post a few of them but heck, these were shown in gradeschools so they shouldn't be out of line here. My, how times change. :think

Most of these are NOT the highest resolution versions from the site because the audio didn't work. I don't think the problem is on my end because some of the "hi-res" versions' audio works OK. All screenshots are from whatever version I posted so you know what you're getting.
