Observational film on a children's outing to the sea run by the NSPCC. Introduction by the Rev. Arthur Morton who relates the story of the medallion, "The biggest liar going, Peter: 10 years", made by his father, a metalworker, who made his son wear it. Appeal to join the society, run events or collect money. Director encourages children to write to him. Inspectors and helpers take a group of children on an outing to Weston-Super- Mare from Birmingham. Slum and dereliction scenes. Birmingham Snow Hill station. Scenes from the journey: trains, rides, countryside, carriage. Weston-Super-Mare station, beach, rides, pier, fish `n' chips, ice creams, tea, presents, departure. The film ends on a scene of a lone child in a slum with a silent appeal for the League of Pity.
