One Voice Children's Choir

The One Voice Children’s Choir was formerly known as the 2002 Winter Olympic Children’s Choir, which consisted of volunteer children, organized for the purposes of promoting the Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their theme song, It Just Takes Love, was featured on the Olympic CD “Light Up the Land,” along with Gladys Knight, Brooks & Dunn, SHeDaisy, Donny Osmond, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Many of the singers who recorded for the CD also volunteered as “children of light” during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. After the games were over and the flame was put out, the children could not let go of the friendships they made during this historic event and desired to stay together and “keep the flame burning within.” In response to the children’s wish, Masa Fukuda, the composer of It Just Takes Love, obtained help from supportive parents to establish what eventually became a non-profit organization (501c3) known as the One Voice Children’s Choir.

These children ranged from 5 – 18 years of age, and they come from all over Wasatch Front (extending out to Park City / Heber City). They have received numerous awards in the recording industry, including the prestigious John Lennon International Music Award, presented by Yoko Ono and George Martin of the Beatles. They were invited guest performers at the private party for Mitt Romney and The First Lady’s Parenting Conference in 2012, and now the 2013 State Inauguration. The choir is all-year-round, and children have a chance to perform 50 – 55 times a year on average.
