AKA "Don't Cry, Pretty Girls!"

Savanyú and his friends work at a plant. After the monotonous shifts they engage in the pleasures of the afternoon and the night: Sex, parties and concerts. Savanyú is engaged to Juli, who works in hostels with the other girls. But they have almost no time to spend together. At a concert held in the Park of Youth, Juli gets to know musician Géza. They flirt and she decides to leave on tour with him and his group. Savanyú goes after them and eventually catches up. Juli must make a choice: who does she really want to be with?

Another straight from obscurity to blu-ray release, starring the angelic Jaroslava Schallerová. I was quite surprised to find it listed on blu-ray.com:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/La-Belle ... ay/285424/

For some reason it was only released in France. Qui peut comprendre l'industrie? No, I don't know French but I speak fluent Google translate.

It took some searching, they don't offer it on Amazon or ebay, but I finally tracked down a French vendor that carried this disc and would ship to the United States. Couldn't find exact production dates - except that filming took place in the spring of 1970, which was right around Jaroslava's 14th birthday (April 25th). She was probably right in the middle of making this movie on her special day.

The story should probably be more depressing than it is, life behind the iron curtain was dreary in a lot of ways. A comrade couldn't even finish their shower without some idiot apparatchik shutting off the water! The music lifts the mood though. And of course, our lovely heroine, fresh off her debut role in Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970). ;)

Features the original Hungarian dialogue track, with subtitles in English and (of course) French. S'amuser! :D

Hm. Although the actress (Jaroslava Schallerová) is Czech, the movie is Hungarian. Just a note.

You're welcome - although the subtitles came with the disc, I didn't create them.

That makes me curious if she could speak Hungarian or was dubbed?

Weren't all Hungarian (and Czech) films of that era post-sync dubbed? Italian films definitely were, and it was the case for many other countries as well. It did not matter what languages the actors could speak, because in many cases they were dubbed by professional voice actors in post-production, while they went off to do other films. Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan did not dub any of his early Cantonese-language films.

Of course this does not answer your question as to what languages Jaroslava spoke! Now I need to watch the movie and pay close attention to her mouth. :o

Probably yes. It is funny to think about dialogue in two languages with actors/actresses potentially not understanding each other, although this was allegedly the case with [REL] Der scharlachrote Buchstabe (1973).
