I watched it yesterday and it was real fun.

AND: It's a family movie! The 3 girls are really sisters. The whole Schmidt family seems to be involved, as actors, director, producers...

It is pretty well done and the stunts and special effects look so realisic. (AI?). I mean the girls were in some really dangerous situations. I wonder how they did it. At least they seem to be very good swimmers.

The thought of the little girl sitting on top of an elephant seal freaks me out! I like to believe that was AI superimposing them. They aren't supposed to be aggressive (to humans), but it is so huge I can just picture it rolling over and squishing her.

Fantasia 2022: ‘Island of Lost Girls’ Review
by Alain Elliott

With the whole film’s focus on the three girls, it was critical that they are engaging and actually good in their roles. And while it might be a push to say they are all great actors, they have an undeniable charm and it’s easy to get caught up in their story. But beyond their acting abilities, they filmed all their own stunts in the movie. And there are a lot of stunts. Things are obviously filmed very cleverly so that stunts that look dangerous almost definitely aren’t but lets not take anything away from the young actors. There is lots to do in this movie. Whether it’s swimming big waves, clinging on to a surfboard, being surrounded by sea lions or jumping from rocks. It all looks great too. There is some CGI used but it absolutely works and doesn’t take away from the real things that are happening on screen.

I ended up doing the same as Rhisis. I watched a bunch of it on youtube, but not all quite yet. The part where they climb up the cliff wall was nuts, pretty cool how they did that. The dialogue is pretty simplistic in this, too, and you really just seem to follow the girls on their adventure.
