I've followed the guide to download it and get it up and running and I'm now downloading a movie. It says 11 hours until finished, is this right?
Also when the movie is finished downloading will it go to some sort of folder and when I do pull up the movie to play do I just click on the subtitles that I downloaded to get them to play along with the movie?
Emule help and more?
Re: Emule help and more?
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You had the courage to try installing eMule and you succeeded!
That make me happy, and I am sure it makes ghost VERY HAPPY. It can be difficult to convince people to try eMule.
OK, your questions:
That seems reasonable. It depends on your Internet download speed and the speed of your sources.
From your posts in the thread I am guessing that you are getting "Halam Geldi". I know I am sharing it and ghost almost certainly is also sharing it. We will both go offline on occasion, but we will be back and continue to share the file. You do NOT have to stay connected all the time. You can shut off emule and/or your computer and restart it later. The download will continue where it left off as soon as it finds sources again. That is how Peer-to-Peer sharing works. Emule is like torrenting in that way. Just do not change or move the PARtial file while it is incomplete.
It will say in your eMule Transfers/Downloads window when it is complete. In the standard eMule installation, finished downloads will be in your emule/incoming folder. To get to it quickly if you don't know where it is:Also when the movie is finished downloading will it go to some sort of folder
In your eMule client, click on Tools
Select "Open Incoming Folder..."
See where the green arrows are pointing in the picture below:

Play the VIDEO in your installed video player. As long as the subtitles are named the same (except for the extension .srt for the subtitle and .mkv or .mp4 or whatever for the video) then they will sync together. You may have to select the subtitle in the Subtitle menu of your player. Two widely-used and recommended players are VLC and MPC. VLC is easier but I use both.and when I do pull up the movie to play do I just click on the subtitles that I downloaded to get them to play along with the movie?
After you have finished downloading, you can leave the file in the Incoming folder to keep sharing it when you are running eMule. You can also add more Shared folders in eMule and move it to one of the other shared folders. You can also copy it or move it to an external drive. Just be sure you copy the subtitles too. It is up to you to decide when you are done sharing the file. And you do NOT need to keep eMule running in order to play the video with your video player. The eMule client is meant for downloading and sharing files.
Understand? Enjoy whatever movies you get!

Here is a screenshot of the eMule client showing a Completed download.
The Progress bar is green and Status column says "Complete".
