Jana (Anna Unterberger) is a young mother who hires her Moldovan cleaning lady Natalia (Kristina Yaroshenko) to go to the dry cleaners. But on the way there, a serious accident occurs that leaves Natalia in a coma. Unknowingly, Natalia's young daughter Anna (Anna Cheban) hides out with Jana. Meanwhile, Jana is planning a birthday party for her husband Alexander (Hanno Koffler). During the party, she tries in vain to reach Natalia, who has not returned from the dry cleaners. What Jana doesn't know is that her cleaner has left her eight-year-old daughter Anna behind in her house. Later that evening, the police show up at the party, prompting Jana to lie that Natalia was working for them illegally. After the party is over, Jana and Alexander discover little Anna in the house, who speaks no German. With no information about Natalia's surname or address, Jana is faced with a conundrum. Against Alexander's resistance, Jana decides to keep Anna with her. She keeps Anna's presence secret from the police and begins to search for information about Natalia's relatives. But the more she searches, the more she realizes how little she knew about the woman who cleaned her house and made her life easier.
