The Nature of Invisible Things tells the story of two girls who meet in a hospital on vacation and, sharing the desire to leave, form a friendship amidst bittersweet moments. Rafaela Camelo's film was selected for the Generation exhibition at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival and deals with the conflicts and dilemmas of childhood in a lighthearted way. In the plot, Glória (Laura Brandão), a ten-year-old girl, is with her mother in the hospital where she works and ends up meeting Sofia (Serena), a girl her age. Bored and frustrated at having wasted their vacation in the hospital, they explore the place together and form a bond of friendship and share their insecurities. While Glória deals with feelings that don't seem to be entirely hers since she underwent a heart transplant, Sofia believes that the hospitalization is the reason for her great-grandmother's worsening health.
