Miriam (Tomomi Themann) temporarily moves in with her friend Ida (Emilia Maier) and attends the Winterstein School with her, unaware that a magical community exists there. On her very first day, she is unexpectedly given the magical animal Fitzgeraldo, a lively tarsier (voice: Daniel Zillmann), while classmate Max (Thilo Fridolin Matthes) is given the clever owl Muriel (voice: Annett Louisan). When Ida learns that the school is to be closed, the class puts everything on a crucial school challenge. Miriam finds herself in an emotional conflict because her old school, including her former classmate Torben (Philip Müller), who once excluded her, is also competing.
