I've never downloaded movies/shows before.. So I decided to try for the first time by downloading Episode 1 of this series from SBS

Anyone wanna help me test to see if I did everything right and that this plays normal?

I got 8 minutes in and then paused it to compare to SBS-streaming with VPN, and it looked the same to me. So you must have done it right! What did you use to download?

Since I went to SBS I grabbed the subtitles.

Downloaded an Extension from the Chrome web store called "Video DownloadHelper"

I had to also download "DownloadHelper CoApp" which is part of the Video DownloadHelper extension

Hey, I've used that! I have found it very useful.

If you get enthusiastic about doing more downloading I recommend Jdownloader.

It is software that is free and small, and also easy to install and use. It downloads the full available file quality even if your streaming slows down. If your internet is strong then it can download much faster than streaming time. Downloads can be paused and resumed without losing what you have so far. I is also great for downloading multi-part RARs from sites like pixeldrain and MEGA. It works on many streaming sites but not ALL. I don't know if it works on SBS but it is worth a try. I use a browser VPN for SBS and I would need to use a computer-wide VPN to download from SBS in JDownloader. Since you don't need a VPN for SBS that would not be an issue.

Whether you continue on with the joy of downloading or this was a one-time experiment, thank you for sharing!

thanks for the tip! I'll play around with jdownloader later and see how good it is

Edit: Any tips on what to use to download yt videos? The extension I mentioned earlier in this thread doesn't support video downloads from youtube

Quickly before I log off, many youtube videos can be downloaded in JDownloader also, how about that! Others such as age-resricted YouTube videos can be downloaded with the command-line yt-dlp. Good night.
