I didn't need approval for my first few posts, but now...

When I first signed up here, I could post my first few posts just fine without anyone's approval. But now my posts always go straight to the moderation queue. Did I do anything wrong?

You did nothing wrong. This is normal for those newly posting. The first few posts do not necessarily need moderation, but an indefinite number after do. This is triggered especially by multiple posts in the same day, because this is something typical of Spammers. A Moderator determines they are NOT spam and they are approved. Once a new member is established as a legitimate poster and not a Spammer, the restriction automatically goes away.

Don't worry, I know what actual Spam looks like. The idea is to keep everyone else from seeing it, and most of the time it works.
