Plot 1:
Plot 2:The heat keeps rising. People grow distant, in curious kinds of solitude. This is where Jonah (28) provides comfort for strangers. But when he finds himself in the role of the father for 9-year-old Nika, his life starts to unravel.
[Image]The story is set in a near future where, due to climate change, the days have become unbearably hot. Therefore, all social life has been moved to the night, when the temperature is a little more tolerable. People go to work at night, schools open all night, grocery shopping is done at night. Everything happens at night, while during the day people sleep and the city empties, with both young and old strictly forbidden from leaving their homes due to the risks they would face at those temperatures. In this boiling world, the scorching heat contrasts with the chill of human relationships, increasingly distant, increasingly devoid of affection and emotion. Jonah, the story's protagonist, works for one of the various agencies that seek to exploit this state of isolation and solitude to offer private clients, women and men alone and barricaded at home, the services of professional actors capable of assuming the roles of close family members without generating the emotional tensions that a real son or husband might trigger. One day, Jonah is asked to take on the role of father to troubled little Nika. He accepts her mother's offer, hoping that this will help the little girl overcome her melancholy intolerance and open up a little to life. A journey into the unpredictable blossoming of a relationship, one that will never fully unfold.
