As I got both versions, I'd say, it was filmed in typical widescreen, like many movies. Means 1.85:1 for aspect. An thus the 4:3 version is cut at left and right. The question is:
1) The movie was originally 4:3
then cutted up-down for dvd version
2) The movie was originally 16:9
then cutted left-right for 4:3 VHS version
and than cutted (again?!? 8O ) up-down for DVD version?
What do you think?
