Tango Argentino
Set in Yugoslavia, Nikola is an ten-year-old boy helping lonely, elderly people revive their urge to live and in return receives love and understanding which has been denied to him by his parents. He is particularly enthralled by an old fellow who used to earn his living as a tango singer, and who still has something of the enthusiasm for living that infuses that music. His father is a music teacher who isn't quite up to the challenge posed by living with his energetic and complicated wife, and since they are not well off materially, the difficulty of their lives is compounded. While his father dreams unrealistically of building a home based on income from being a wedding musician, Nikola dreams of getting a pop corn machine at the race track, so his family can make "real" money.

Apparently not since 10 year olds are no longer considered children.
Nikola is an ten-year-old boy
