Here is my new site, a real labor of love that I've been working on for a while.

http://www.schooldaysdvd.com

It has a modest collection of coming of age films and a growing collection of Junior Idol Modeling DVD's from Japan. This is my first attempt at a site so I would welcome any feedback.

A pirate site flogging copied DVD's of commercially available films. I think this post should be removed.

Although selling pirate movies is frowned upon, uploading copyrighted movies on eMule linked from FLM is frowned upon too!

Not to mention that im pretty sure that not all the other childhood sites featured here play by the rules all of the time either.

I found the clips to be very useful.
I spotted a few films that I know of, but didn’t bother downloading before now, but now I will download them after seeing the clips.
Oh and I spotted a few films I never new about.

I've talked films with people on other forums and always felt like such a newb compared to the collections of others so I thank you for the comment that I have some titles that you weren't previously aware of.

Without admitting to anything I will say this about my philosophy towards the site. There are some who obtain their movies a certain way, and god bless all of you for I do the same. But there are those who either don't have the patience or the ability to do so and for them sites like this exist. I never wanted to make a million dollars off of this and since the prices aren't exorbitant I like to think I offer a service to some.

And thank you Billaben for the compliments. As I said, this is my first real attempt at making a site and so such a compliment is very much appreciated. It took me forever to get everything together and I probably have a lot of work left to do to improve it.

I apologize for the long reply, but I just wanted to express my gratitude because after the first comment to my link I thought I was taking crazy pills.

Selling very rare unreleased films on dvd I don't have a problem with. I would however by most P***ed off if I bought, for example, a copy of Innocence when the original dvd is available. Looking at the site quite a few of the films fall into the easily available category and I know where to get originals of most of them.

I know what you mean, but if I decided to start selling my own copies online (which I wont), more fool the people that don’t shop around before buying from me.

In an ideal world, we would all know how to obtain movies like the people on this board. But such is not the case and not everyone is as proficient as others and for them I feel sites like mine exist. I know perfectly well what my movies are, and thus they are priced accordingly. I am very honest with people in terms of video and audio quality of each title. This is a cue that I got from other sites like CVMC that lets their customers know exactly what it is they are getting. I know some may be saying that the appropriate price for such titles is "free" but if there are people who can't do what we do, there obviously is a price for the service offered.

And speaking of price and CVMC, let's not kid ourselves about the service that other sites like mine offer and make it seem as if mine is somehow the great evil and their's is the paradigm of model internet behaviour. CVMC offers the title "Zazie Dans Le Metro", a title not easily obtained but it can certainly be done if one looks long enough online. The site offers a VHS copy, a VHS mind you, at $39.99. I only bring this title up because it'll be on my next update and it's something I wouldnt' charge more than $15 for a DVD. I'm not trying to poop all over CVMC because they do have a loyal customer base and god bless them for what they do, especially if they can be successful at it. But I decided to do my site for 3 reasons:
1. I thought other sites charged way too much for the "type" of service they offered
2. I thought the quality of their work in terms of DVD creation and presentation was shoddy at best
3. CVMC and other sites like Azov have leaned more and more towards boy films over the recent years and I wanted to create a strictly starlet version and I also thought the Japanese material would be a new twist

And yes I do know that many of my titles are obtainable from other more known sources and my list of truly rare titles are scarce. But please keep in mind that I've just started and god knows that I've tried to get other people involved from other forums to add their collection in order to offer a more vast catalog. But all such attempts have failed thus far and so I did it myself. Modest at first I admit, but I would reckon that we all have to start somewhere and I thought this was an endeavor worth investing time in.

And did I honestly think that many people from this forum, if any, would buy titles from my site. Probably not, but it is one of the last ones around with so many being shut down in the last year and so I did want to include it in one of the last few communities still in existence. I wanted to be part of the "community", part of its consciousness because this is one of the things that I do to channel who it is I am and to keep myself from going crazy. If all of this disagrees with some of you, well what can I do. I guess you can remove my link and these posts. But this is about more than making money and about more than just pirating and its often easier to be who you are within a supportive community rather than alone.

I apologize for the long rant, but I felt the need to defend myself.

I have seen sites like yours come and go. I know you are in the US so let me offer you some wisdom. Once you start advertising your presence you start to attract attention. There are some very over zealous people about and before you know it you could have people wearing black jackets with 3 letters on their back visiting you. Two sites I have seen in the past had such "visits" so please consider what you are doing. I know most of the films are available anyway but it can come down to peoples perceptions.

I appreciate the advise and I do know of a couple of sites myself. But in those cases, didn't the site start to sell items they really shouldn't have. The way I look at it, I'm trying to have a site that is a kin to something like CVMC. I know for a fact they are in the Southern California area at the moment, so how have they stayed in business so long. Maybe I'm truly missing something here, but I don't see how I'm doing anything that is so different.
