don't know if this has been asked i'm new. but how do you burn a a avi or mpg downloaded to nero?

If you just want to play it on your computer, select DVD(ISO) in the new compilation menu and add the file(s) you want, then burn.

If you want to play it on a standalone DVD player, select DVD(VIDEO) and add the files. Nero will take some time to convert the files to proper DVD format (sometimes this can take several hours), so be prepared.
However, it is recommended that you use proper DVD authoring software so you can make nice menus, chapters, etc.
