Synopsis:

Through a series of twenty six short stories, a girl describes the childhood events that shaped her ideas about fatherhood, family relations, work and play. As the stories unfold, a dual portrait emerges: that of a father who cared more for his career than for his family, and of a daughter who was deeply affected by his behavior. Working in counterpoint to the forceful text are sensual black and white images that depict both the extraordinary and ordinary events of daily life. Together, they create a formally complex and emotionally intense film

This is not a conventional film. Avante-garde, it consists of 26 chapters (one for each letter of the alphabet) which tell a story of a girl's relationship with her father. There are no actors per se, the video is black and white and mostly otherwise-unrelated clips. The audio (which doesn't start until the fourth chapter) consists primarily of the girl telling the story. (She does it well, I love her voice.) The story is slow-paced but surprisingly engaging and at times moving. This movie is not for everyone, no particularly "special scenes", but I liked it a lot. Thanks Kev for requesting it!
