Synopsis:
Personal Note from Director:On a hot summer day, five adolescents
seek refreshment near a river.
Whilst we observe their behaviour within
the group, the apparently calm day tends
to be disrupted.
A poetic short film, without dialogue,
about a seemingly harmless and innocent day.
Pix:Several years ago I went back to a place
to which I had been so often in my youth.
I realised that a scene with adolescents which I observed kept a whole story in itself. You could say Meander is the story that was evoked in my head by just this one image.
Meander deals with the period in life where we don’t think of what we do, where we are ahead of our thoughts. It is only later that we realise ourselves about what may have been going on.
The film approaches the subject from a poetic angle and does not offer a clear answer to a possible question. It plays with the spectator’s expectations and hopefully it reaches you.
In terms of perspective, I have opted for a contemplative eye. I have watched and recorded the story of my memory. I have let the film be pure and open for any personal interpretation.
