Hong ying tao AKA Red Cherry (1995)

During some troubled times in their homeland, a Chinese boy (Xu Xiaoli) and girl (Guo Ke-Yu) in their early teens are shipped off to Russia and enlisted into a boarding school.
When the Nazis invade, they are split up, the former finding himself on Soviet turf and the latter a prisoner of war. Our young hero and a band of other children struggle to survive on the streets full of uncaring adults; our young heroine finds herself at the mercy of a warped German officer. Might these friends be reunited by the time the ending credits role?
A true story which often brutally depicts war. Winner of a number of awards. Highly recommended!

After having waited for ages for the parts to complete I gave up. Then a request at hvg.forumbook gave me rapidshare links which I dl/d. Only my tears can tell you about the beauty of this movie

As far as I am aware of, no BD has been released for this gem. There is an HDTV rip at 1080p available at some Chinese DDL sites, but I am not sure if the picture quality is really better than that of a DVD. See the snapshots:

That was what I was looking for if you transmit it on HDTV, get better quality that is transmitted in analog signal, you just have to wait for someone to record the film and upload it
I will continue waiting

OK, I'm going to get that HDTV rip, which is available at some ddl sites, as I said (size: 3.2GB), and release it via emule when it's done.
