Garnering another WOW! from me!!

This direct-to-video documentary about photographer Jock Sturges is not even listed yet in imdb, but it's already being sold [as of 'April 2008'], and it looks great! (My copy is on it's way!! :thumbsup )

Geeze!! I love this guy! :onfire

Whereas Saudek's taste in females is all over the map; Sturges focuses [no pun intended ;) ] mostly on the grace and beauty of youth.

Looking forward to getting this one!!

This name I do recognize. It is often mentioned in the same breath as David Hamilton whenever photography involving underage nudity is being discussed.

I wonder what the documentary will be like. Do let us know when you get it, kev.

Wow, Sturges! I personally prefere him over Hamilton, his photos seem to me somehow more authentic and less "artistic". That would be great to download this document. Btw, I remember to buy one of his books in Boston (Mass.) several years ago, I must undergo a cross examination by a salesman, and was allowed to buy it only because I was a stranger :)

Geeze, what a freakin' invasion of personal privacy.

But having had to order a few books like this from the store [before the internet {what a GODSEND!! :pray }], I'll admit I was a bit embarrassed by the odd looks shot at me by staff when I went to purchase it. Kind of like buying condoms at the drugstore with a female at the register.. :blush lol

Interesting. So would the Junior Miss Nudist Pageant also qualify as a release? Not on Imdb, but sold on DVD.

Massachusetts has a deep puritanical streak -- it was where the Puritans aka the Pilgrims first colonized New England in 1621. You have probably heard the phrase "Banned in Boston", 19th century censors found much support within the Boston upper class. And a few years ago its large Roman Catholic population was the original site of the eventually widespread "pedophile priests" scandal... I am thinking that might be why you were questioned, it was on people's minds.

On the other hand, Massachusetts today has a decidedly socially liberal element, perhaps because it has such a concentration of universities which bring fresh ideas... it's the only state in the US where gay marriage is legal.

I've actually met Jock, as he's a good friend of my father's (who is also a naturist photographer.) Misty Dawn is in her mid 20's now (I believe) and Jock's latest work is going to be pretty spectacular. I'm not sure if he's working on a new book or not. But the guy's a character, and great with kids.

I love his work and wish him the best. I can't wait to see his upcoming documentary!

It's too bad I haven't kept in contact with the guy - I only met him when I was 13 :(
