Duplicate Releases

We are still getting a number of duplicate releases. Without starting a debate about the search function, willow mentioned a kinder alternative to those who appear to relish pointing out on the forum when something has already been posted.
Most releasers will be initially hanging around on the forum, waiting to see how their release is received (or waiting for the dreaded post, informing them it's a duplicate) so a PM would give them the opportunity to correct the mistake without feeling their efforts have been wasted.
Don't just trash your duplicate release either.........additions are always welcome to existing threads, especially if the original release is of poor quality or sparsely sourced.
