Optimising emule search (manually deleting fake servers)

Post by Rich »   0 likes

I know there are fake servers out there that make searching the ed2k network a nightmare :wall but peerrates and other sites that offer non fake server lists only have a very limited number of servers, which when doing a global search yield few results. So my question; is there anyway to take a complete server list (including fake servers) then manually delete the fake servers? I think it would be worth doing, but the question is which are the fake servers?? I've always understood it that the servers that use :4661 and :4662 are real whilst the others are fake, but i've searched other servers and got good results?? So any advice appreciated, thanks :)

recommend you to do kadsearches as well, quite a few things show up then that doesn't show up on global search.

anyone? :think i think if a server.met file could be extensive but without fake servers it could help find rare files :think then again maybe i am understanding this wrong, wouldn't be the first time lol... so a question; if someone connected to a server (without kad) with a rare file, would that file be visable to someone who did a search but who did not have that server in their serverlist? :think

because when searching for files on the ed2k network the more servers you have the longer it takes, some say ed2k is obsolete because of kad, but it only becomes obsolete when people stop using it, and those with the rarer video files (as with rarer music files) often use older programs or programs they started using some time ago imo :think

oh for reference for myself, updating server.met doesn't work through websites through firefox because of some stupid configuration thing, just use IE ;)
