Quite probably pretty stupid question of an techno-idiot, but facing so often a problem of non-existing subs I start to wonder if a following procedure isn´t possible: Namely, to extract a sound-track, to open or convert or whatever to/in some text editor file, and to translate it then. Is it in some way possible, or it is merely a febrile dream of sometimes desperated film lover?

As in voice recognition of the soundtrack that writes a text file with timetrack, or better yet, creates a subtitle file direct? Heck, I'd pay for a program like that.

You could use something like Dragon Naturally Speaking or some other VR program to get the voices into text that could be imported into a subtitle editor, but I haven't seen a single package that would do that, nor heard of one being in development. You might want to try marketing the idea even if it would be a niche market. You could also jump onto SourceForge and toss the idea out for some group of independent programmers to chew on.

So when will Pranama Corporation release this new software? I have my PayPal account ready!
