The story centers on 11 year old Aneta. Her grandfather shows her a game where she lights a match and stares at it, imagining what she wants to happen. Her daydreams usually concern the boy next door, who she imagines marrying. (The previously unknown screencap is from one of those dream sequences).

Aneta is sent to relatives in the countryside on vacation, ahead of the rest of her family. The boy follows her, and they initially misconnect and wander about for a while, eventually ending up with some relatives. There is angst as Aneta has a rival for the boy's affection, "first love" is a major theme of the movie.

Spoiler: The holiday ends with a telegram that her beloved grandfather has died.

Bulgaria! Is that where Count Dracula lived?

Count Dracula lived in Transylvania in South East Carpatian Mountains, part of the present Romania; Bulgarian mountains belong to the Balkan mountain system. Both Rumanian and Bulgarian mountains are wild and beautifull - by my personal experience.
