.......is a good match for Virgin Media?

I feel its now time I got myself a flat screen TV, but im already bored with reading stuff like 50 hertz, 1024p, motion blur and all that jazz.

I just want a 32" flat telly that gives a nice picture whether im watching DVD's, standard TV and maybe one day HDTV.

This one looked good value, and the reviews arent bad:

But I dont want to be dissapointed when I get it home!
£400 is my limit.

Also, all the shops are playing HDTV through the diplay models so I cant get a realistic idea of how good it will be when I watch normal broadcasts.

The thing that drives me most nuts is when the saleman asks me what I will be watching on the telly: sport / action/ gaming etc (yes all of that stuff)!!
These TV's are supposed to be so advanced, but I dont remember all this hassle with a CRT!

Thanks for any help :-)

As long as you steer clear of the brands nobody's heard of you should be OK with most of the respected names.
I would personally consider this one, for no other reason than I've got the same size & make, albeit a slightly older model, & have been entirely satisfied. Just don't buy a Pasnasonic DVD recorder though..........mine has recently expired at a quite young age & subsequently been replaced with a Sony.

Try & decide exactly what you want first, then Google for some extra discount codes. There are whole forums devoted to sniffing out the best deals.........I ended up getting an extra £20 off my Panasonic TV with a little research.......I think it ended up coming from Curry's.
I'd ignore the so-called 'salesmen'........they're simply fuckwits with a pulse & not worth listening to! :)

Just remember, if comparing with CRT whatever you buy will be highly complex with a substantial instruction manual!

Thanks for tips.

What i dont want is this thing people talk about called ghosting.

Just imagine, you spend 400 smackers on a nice flat screen telly only to find that the picture sucks worse than your 7 year old CRT!

As long as a flat screen telly can play standard TV without any picture issues, ill splash the cash!

Supposedly Pioneer is the very best money can buy - I have a Samsung myself - excellent set. Phillips, Sony and Samsung generally seem to get the best reviews.
