Emule Client
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good emule client to use?
Re: Emule Client
Assuming you are running Windows I would initially suggest the standard client.

Connectivity is the key issue.....with that sorted you'll find it works well straight out of the box. Once familiar you can always tweak the settings & decide whether ultimately you want to move on to one of the modded versions. These are not an 'instant fix' & won't cure poor configuration. There are different mods, depending on what you want the client to do for you (for example, leecher or releaser mods).

Re: Emule Client
Where could I find some suggested settings for the normal client which is what I'm currently using. As for modded clients I'm not sure features I'd be interested as I've never used emule till I found this site but I'll listen to suggestions though. I'd most likely want something that would allow me to possibly only allow certain users to connect to me like those of flm.

I've tried 5 or 6 different mods, and I agree with loverboy that you should probably use the standard eMule client to start out. I personally like the MorphXT mod. I specifically recommend against DreaMule because of some suspicious stuff it was doing (see https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... php?t=6424 ).
Re: Emule Client
You can't entirely stop the great unwashed from connecting & you shouldn't want to! Assuming you are looking at a releaser mod such as MorphXT (which I've used for several years) what you CAN do is assign multiple friend slots & divert the majority of your upload bandwidth there. I like MorphXT & it works well with my limited upload capability.
The only other releaser mod I have experience of is a cracked version of the Fireball mod. This produced spectacularly good results when I tried it in a generous bandwidth environment but was absolute shite when I tried it at home with my piss-poor connection. The only other endearing feature it had was the ability to 'kick' users, but only on a temporary basis.

Re: Emule Client
I just checked out the morphxt mod and I like it better than the standard version as I'm getting a much better speed with it than I was with the standard client. Thanks for the info loverboy and phuzzy4242.
