Does anyone know the story behind the old site, what happened to it and the owner?

Last year the original site went down in June for a few days because the domain name expired, then went down again permanently in July because the web host expired. In neither case could we find the original owners (who were the only ones able to renew it) - we don't know what happened to them and haven't heard from them since. It was obvious FLM was in danger when the domain name expired, and mimzy brilliantly captured all the public areas before the board could disappear forever. He went to a lot of time, trouble, and expense and brought it back online in August.
