The Club of Ugly Children tells the story of a president who decides to confine all ugly children. The 11-year-old Paul is an uncertain boy with floppy ears. At one day, he sees a yellow bus on the schoolyard and he picks up a quarrel between Secretia and his headmaster, he feels that something is about to happen. After a photo shoot Paul and a few ugly classmates have to go on a 'school trip.' Paul quickly realizes, while he is on the bus, that this is not just a trip, but that all the ugly children will be taken to a secret place. However, he concocts a ruse and manages to escape. But then a bounty hunter puts the hunt for him..

There is more emphasis on the lead boy but the girls are important in this short based on a children's book, adapted again last year into a feature-length film. This short is also available at ulozto.net in a larger file of similar quality if you absolutely need direct download. In Dutch with NO subtitles, but easily understood.

This is a cute family-film. Sure, it's an old story and predictable but pretty good anyway.
And by the way, the kids aren't really ugly.

I knew you would rally to their defense!! And I agree.
I'm not sure if it is a flaw of the film that they did not work harder at uglifying the kids. All are in the normal range of appearance ... nothing like Eric Stoltz in
Mask (1985). If they had done that, it could have been more powerful.
It should be noted that not all my pics show the persecuted "ugly" children; it also includes the normies, most of whom turn out in support of their unconventional-looking classmates. It is the intolerant adults who are the real enemies.
