The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)

Synopsis:
A young governess is hired by a man to look after his niece and nephew at their family country house after they fall into his care. Soon after arriving at the Bly estate, she begins to experience strange occurrences and a grim history starts to unravel.
Wow!! What an intriguing and highly ORIGINAL premise!!! NEVER heard THAT one before..

Not content with just another theatrical remake [hot on the heels of The Turning (2020), [REL]'ed earlier this year]; NOW they've made the 'Bly' haunting into a nine part NETFLIX series.... :think

If I didn't love 'Turn of the Screw' so much, I'd probably just say 'Fudge it!' and pass on the series; but I DO love it and I'm holding out hope that THIS rendition might actually turn out 'GREAT'! (This particular production company actually did a decent job two years ago on turning The Haunting of Hill House (2018) into a NETFLIX series..)

The actress portraying Flora, Amelie Bea Smith is cute enough and has an eerie aire about her... :think

[NOTE: None of the episodes have English subs. [Sorry, Emuler. :( ] I've renamed and reloaded them all for consistency..

If someone liked this better than me and ripped it in SUPER-DEE-DUPER High Def and was trying to get the ripps as perfect as possible; PLEASE post the links. As these are not mine, I don't have any skin in the game other than being a fan of the story.. :D

Thanks, kev. This release might be too large for my preferences, so I'm going for a torrent from RARBG which is 4.80GB in size.
Btw. it has srt subs in 31 languages!!! Uncompressed 13MB; almost 5MB zipped.

Seriously??

In this time where it seems like we're pulling eyeteeth just hoping that members might take the time to post a comment on threads made by contributing members, I DON'T want to embarrass or mock anyone that's taking the time to post something.

It's just...: If you're going to make the effort to post a comment; please, PLEASE, post something positive and useful.

I'm sorry if I might seem a little peeved, but in my original post I stated;

I've actually had the entire 'Hill House' series downloaded for a year or so and just haven't made time to watch it as I've never particularly gotten excited about the 'Hill House' movies/franchise. I'm going to make an effort to put this series to my 'need-to-watch-list', although

isn't much of an actual recommendation, just an opinion. ;)

MY main reason for deciding to watch it is; where the original films children held no roles in the storylines, in THIS series Lulu Wilson, Mckenna Grace [my fave, from the recent 'Troop Zero' Amazon Prime Release :heart :heart] and Violet McGraw all seem to have substantial roles, while a smaller role for Olive Elise Abercrombie seems to be thrown in for good measure.

So actually, right off the bat, I can see the argument that 'Hill House' might be better due to 'Girl Content' alone. 4 girls compared to 1 girl in THIS series...

(MAYBE we can even bring the 'Hill House' series here if the children's content makes it OT enough...) :think

I HAVE always been a 'Turn of the Screw' fan and have happily taken time out to watch any of the re-hashes of THAT storyline that have been released through the years. A few have been really good. Most are uninspired crap. But again, I loved the Henry James novelette and I'm always anxious to see if any new remake can capture the eerie atmosphere of the story.

It is my hope that however 'less-better' THIS series is compared to 'Hill House', it still will be enjoyable for the other members at FLM... :)

I love the acting of Amelie Bea Smith and she looking awsome. A good reason to watch this series and well... the story is also good.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it, but I just found the first season better. I am picky though. I found it slow at times.
