In the midst of Stalinist tyranny, six-year-old Leelo's mother is sent to a prison camp. Haunted by her mother's last words telling her to be a good kid, Leelo vows to be on her best behaviour in the confusing grown-up world in the hope that it will bring her mother back.

Edit: I saw it on iTunes Germany for 4,99€. A fair price I found, so I pay it :-)

When I got this movie in 2018, I thought it was uninteresting due to lack of any OT. Maybe it is more interesting now with subtitles.

The movie is based on an autobiographical novel by Leelo Tungal (who was also involved in making the movie), so I guess Stalin's era is depicted realistically, but it may be difficult to understand for people who are not familiar with the historical context.
