This sounds weird! In the Monkey Island, populated by men and frog women, spies covet sacred frogs.

It's available here https://1fichier.com/?nwcf8m5ff7zpk12qq ... 214732.rar no subs thoughTriela wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 6:59 pm it's this movie, the OT actress is EvA Ionesco, barely 16 when filmed.

Re: [REQ] Grenouilles (1983)
kast1j's link appears to be 35 minute version. I haven't downloaded it, but it is the same size as one I found on CG, which also claims to have English or Italian subs.
Here is a link to a 602mb torrent, unverfied:
https://www.btdig.com/57c1cd844812647e9 ... illes-1983
This may possibly be a longer version.

Re: [REQ] Grenouilles (1983)
OK, I will combine my ridiculous five posts into one and delete the previous versions. I apologize for the repetition, although there is new information here.
Thank you Triela, this weird one does look interesting to me.
IMDB and other sites list it as 80 minutes, but these sites say it is 35 minutes:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/grenouilles
https://mubi.com/en/ca/films/grenouilles
https://worldscinema.org/2021/08/grenouilles-1983/
The last one has a nitro link, but I do not do those. (It claims it has English subtitles.) The MUBI comments indicate that the 35 minute version seems incomplete, so maybe there was a full version that is now lost. If we eventually get a video that SEEMS to be complete, story-wise, then we can decide if this actually belongs in Shorts. For now I will wait.
Eva Ionesco was born May 21, 1965. So if she was "barely 16", were they filming in 1981 for this 1983 movie? Just asking. If it was some haphazard production by an eccentric arty director, that could certainly be the case.

Thank you kast1j for the fichier link! (EDIT: I have it now and confirm it as 35 minutes without subtitles.)
Thank you pillowbaker for the torrent link. I had not gotten around to checking torrents, and I don't think I would have remembered if not for your post. Alas, there are 0(0) Seeds and only a 49.4% Peer right now. [EDIT: after two days I canceled it.]

This different worldscinema link has a nitroflare link for a different version than the English-subtitled one at the top of this post. It looks to be the same video as pillowbaker's torrent and supposedly has English, Spanish, and French subtitles. A Premium nitroflare account should work.

From the 49.3% I have, I found it is the same 35 minute version seen elsewhere. However, it DOES have DVD subtitle options in Spanish, English, and French. [EDIT: I canceled this torrent because of all the other versions released in this thread.]pillowbaker wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 7:50 am Here is a link to a 602mb torrent, unverfied:

Darn, thanks for the info, I confess I hadn't checked beyond making sure it was the right film.pillowbaker wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 7:50 am kast1j's link appears to be 35 minute version. Re: [REQ] Grenouilles (1983)
Going by the industry standard of filming one year before release, she was 17, which means she was most likely portraying a 16 year old, since I've never heard of an actor or actress portraying someone OLDER character (it would be interesting indeed to have a 12 year old play an 18 year old... or something... whatevs... ) .... so this still makes her OT, and even (N)OT, at that. But sure, I might be wrong, overly optimistic, or, overly pessimistic.Night457 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 10:48 am

At the moment of posting i got 19,7 MB of a 475 MB nitroflare file. 7 hours left. I'll update.............
Re: [REQ] Grenouilles (1983)
Which industry and in which decade? French, Hollywood, world? And it certainly has changed over time, with big studios constantly looking for faster shooting times, and post-production time dependent on things like possible need for FX. With small productions, often post production time was extended while they scrounged for someone who would pay for film prints and distribution. So, I know that there are people who can say what was typical in 1980s France low budget productions, and they are either industry insiders from that era or total film geeks. I am going to guess you are a film geek! (Not an insult.)
This happens all the time, and is usually an excuse for a make-up artist to show off their talent. But I have to assume you mean children NOT portraying adults, which is true except when they portray children throughout a movie and then are "older" in a brief future scene at the end. Like in "Lolita" where she is a married hold hag of about 17.since I've never heard of an actor or actress portraying someone OLDER character
Good luck with the nitroflare!
Re: [REQ] Grenouilles (1983)
nah, not chiluns, i was talking about "regular" roles, it's never gonna happen that they have a 16 year old actor playing a 20 year old college student, or a 35 year old man, playing a 50 year old man.
Nitroflare went bust, cos I have YUUUGE mem leaks and i have to reboot every 2 days, which i forgot, and also, this Chromium browser regularly gets stuck when the memory is low.... So
I should've thought about it beforehand. shouldawouldacoulda ...
EDIT:
it goes even slower the second time around
after 121 MB of a 573 MB file, still 9 hours left !?!?! It fluctuates between 4 hours and 9 hours.... whatevs

Re: [REQ] Grenouilles (1983)
Sorry about the nitroflare problems. The free mode never works for me and I won't pay.
What the heck are you talking about? In 1970's Little Big Man, Dustin Hoffman played a character who was 121 years old and he was in his 30s. Marlon Brando and Al Pacino played older versions of their characters in the Godfather movies. In The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Brad Pitt's character aged BACKWARDS. All of this involved extensive makeup. King Lear on stage and film is always played by an actor much younger than the character, because it involves alot of action and dialog to memorize. An actor of the right age would not have the energy. College-student Hamlet is always played by a fortyish man. Glenn Close is about 9 years older than Mel Gibson, but played his mother in Hamlet. She was about 4 years older than Robin Williams, but played his mother in The World According to Garp. Robin Williams was about 30 but played his character as a college student. Dustin Hoffman at about the same age played a college graduate in The Graduate, and no his character did not have a PhD. Jennifer Lawrence has played older characters in a number of movies. Scarlett Johansson was 18 in "Lost in Translation" and playing a college graduate. It happens all the time!
