13-year-old Jonja goes on vacation with the wealthy family of her best friend Paul. None of this would be a problem if the girl had told her mother about it - but she hasn’t. Meanwhile, the days at the lake turn out to be extremely idyllic: Jonja falls in love with a girl and her friendship with Paul is strengthened even further. When it becomes clear that Jonja has lied, emotions run high…

4 hours is not much time! It is geo-restricted to Germany. Anyone outside of Germany needs a proxy or German Server on a VPN. So I got it.

I did a quick uncorrected machine-translation of the German subtitle to the English.
Original German colored VTT subtitles; and SRTs: German SDH; German regular; English SDH; English regular.

No worries, @Night I had already saved this weeks ago I think.

The lead actress was indeed already much older than her character

Yes, indeed. Without knowing her age, I'd guess her to be 16 or 17.

Why has it to be always this way and not the other way round???? :wall

I don’t have an issue with young looking 17-22yo‘s playing 14-18yo teens. But the thing is most 12-13yo‘s simply look much younger than any 15-17yo.

In some rare cases it can work. I remember Ruby O. Fee (current girlfriend of Matthias Schweifhöfer) was already 13-14yo when she played a 10-12yo on „Allein gegen die Zeit“ (KIKA).

(Far right one)

I am still convinced Schweighöfer (40yo) saw Ruby strip nude as 17yo in „Als wir träumten“ (2015) and thought „I want a piece of that“

Am sure you know but 3 main reasons:
older actors can work more hours - doesn't have to be in on-set schooling. Think this is especially true in Hollywood and probably EU.
the older actress would be expected to act better/ take direction - arguable
if the content is controversial then using an older actress is less controversial

So Eline Doenst was either 15 or 16 during filming and looks it - she was born in 2006, but we don't know the specific date. As for her character, 13-year-olds are still in that range where it's hard for anyone more than a year older to play without the audience realizing. Whereas a young looking 19 or 20 yo actress could easily do a convincing 16.

Where did you get that image from, goku? I've been looking for a site that's better than IMDb when it comes to production dates and other such details.
