I watched the very first episode and never watched after that episode

I think the problem was, every episode is just too long (an hour and a half)

And I just couldn't be bothered

I think the 2023 series is a letdown so the fact you didn't enjoy it doesn't offend me.

But just pointing out two things here, with only 3 episodes in the first season, total runtime is actually pretty short. Also the older versions of Famous Five only gave 25 minutes per mystery which was definitely not enough and always felt like watching the show with the fast forward button pressed down (but maybe some like that?).

In the era of short videos, people even prefer like this: Zoe (2019) [Australia]

I sometimes fast-forward shorts if they are too slow.

If they actually lack good stories and cores, I do it sometimes.
I think a good story is usually not afraid of progressing slowly because it actually has too much to tell.
But people are now getting more and more into 5min or even 1min shorts even episodes, which I will never understand.

The series can be watched online on CBBC if you're in the UK.

I can't understand the super short shorts either nor the TikToks and such. I just think a short story should not progress slowly: that is for 3-hour+ movies! Strangely I can be intensely into a 9 hour movie but I can barely make it through a single movie trailer: they tell the "story" too slowly! But honestly, my problem is really with opening and closing credits for a short that are a third of the runtime. My one concession to modernity is that I think every single movie these days should have a 10 second QR code in place of ALL the credits. If someone wants to know the 3000 people who worked on a big budget film they can look it up online! No stroking the egos of directors and stars to have their names at the front either. Just start the movie and when it is over it is over. If I buy a new car does the manual in the glove box have the names of all the people in the factory who built it?

No, I don't agree with that. The QR code is basically just a link, which means you can't access it once the site offline, whereas a lot of times the credits provide some key information such as if you're looking for an actor's name that isn't listed on sites like IMDB.

But I agree with the rest of the part you said.
