After being wounded in battle, a young doctor returns to the orphanage he worked at to learn that is children were relocated. When the man tracks them down at their new location, he is told they were all killed under mysterious circumstances. Our hero then sets off to find out what happened and in the process falls in love with an insane woman, who may or may not be responsible for the death of the children. A eerie epic which is limited to small and fleeting child roles throughout but which is still worth a peek to those who enjoy nightmarish portraits
