So, now that it has been necroposted back from the dead, should we have the two threads for the same film merged into one?
OH! Thanks for the heads up, Night457. I merged the two threads. I am just to lazy to edit all the titles. They started with the French title and ended up in the English one. At least we have one single thread now ;)

Until I get the port forwarding right, I'll be sharing through mega, so those will High Ids can grab it and share it much faster.
Unfortunately the only version out there seems to be NTSC - with other Hamilton films like Laura, les ombres de l'été (1979) the PAL edition is far superior, and the NTSC is truly awful. I'm pretty sure a PAL version of this disc does exist. No one has shared it anywhere yet though.

There is a DVD download I have - but it's only 57m50s:

IMDb lists the movie's length as 59 minutes. So, with some of the screens they display at the beginning or end this is about right.

Unfortunately your DVD is the same one that's out there, 720x480 (NTSC) rather than 720x576 (PAL). The NTSC version of Laura is awful, VHS level quality, while the PAL version is quite good - the haze unfortunately is not a transfer issue. :D

I expect the same will be true of this film.

I've got both versions now and was playing both at the same time (by opening one in VLC, the other in MPC-HC). Oddly the 69m30s (25fps) one is running about 10% faster than the 59m (29.97fps) minute version. Given that the 69m30s one has totally screwed up video-tearing/ odd interlacing issues I strongly suspect that the 69m30s is in fact just playing at the wrong speed - and the extra runtime meant the originator added uncut on to account for the longer running time! I'd need to watch the whole thing through with both playing to be sure - but that's my thoughts.

I find the haze annoying. No one can argue with the choice of subjects though!

A book of images from the film, A Summer in St. Tropez, was released in 1983.

This film even more than most David Hamilton movies has no plot to speak of. It's not an editing thing. This is the way he intended it. So no, no uncut version.
