27 Missing Kisses (2000)

Set in a small Georgian village, this film follows a fourteen year old girl (Nino Kukhanidze) as she visits relatives one Summer during her sexual awakening. Nearby lives a male peer who has the hots for her, but our heroine is very much focused on his father. How will the lad react once he learns of his beloved's true desire and jealousy overtakes him?

16-year-old Nutsa Kukhianidze stars as the teenage Sybilla, who is visiting relatives in a very strange town and teases a local boy while pursuing his middle aged father.

I have both the NTSC and PAL versions of this movie. The PAL image is no sharper, it's much too dark, and they not only cropped the picture but displayed it in the wrong aspect ratio so everything looks too skinny. Very disappointing. That's why I've posted the NTSC version instead. This is one of the few examples where it actually looks better - there are also English subtitles included.

Dammit, where are all the girls like Sybilla in my neighborhood?!

I saw this movie many times until I know it by heart, how strange in FLM it didn't even exist.

Rich / Rich_Visiting posted the ed2k link for this movie in April 2004, around the beginning of FLM. It's been in the FLM archives [so to speak] ALMOST as long as FLM has been here...

deadman, [as he is wont to do, much to everyone's sincere appreciation] posted an upgrade which has brought this gem off the dusty shelf and back to everyone's attention!! Many, many thanks, deadman!!

I thought I had been in REQ for 16 years, apparently there were no replies. Rich's link was not seen, so I believed nor did I see interest in the movie, maybe because Sybila already looked adult, I just adored that iconic bathtub.

I also saw that movie in 2004 and whenever they repeated it I would go out to see it again.

Thanks deadman, I liked this! (But OH MY GAWD, wouldn't packing it in ice to reduce the swelling have been a safer fix than heavyweight industrial machinery?)

That said, I am confused by what I downloaded ... are you sure you shared the right file? What I got was a squished and skinny picture that looked more natural when I stretched it to 16:9 in VLC.

Default value on left, aspect ratio expanded to 16:9 on right.

I use MPC - the latest version is MPC-BE x64, but they all play this movie in 16:9 as do standalone players. With VLC you have to set it to 16:9 yourself. But the PAL version doesn't display correctly unless you manually fiddle with the aspect ratio and stretch the picture. Neither 4:3 nor 16:9 looks right. If I posted that one lots of people would be having trouble. Don't know why they put out a commercial disc with a screwed up aspect, and unnecessarily cropped too.

Yeah, Nutsa is pretty amazing. I wish she'd climb through my window!

OK, I'm glad it was just VLC finally finding something it would not play correctly. Odd that it is normally reliable but can't play the correct aspect ratio on this.

Media Player Classic?? That is ancient. I looked up your "latest version" and saw it is almost 6 years old. But if it still works, great. Lately I have been having problems with long load times for VLC, so maybe I will try MPC instead.

I only use VLC to verify my downloads are good, and I actually watch them on my TV through my blu-ray player, and that has a handy remote button to switch aspect ratios. Once I realized it looked odd it was an instant fix. Since I have the superior NTSC version, I'm happy. Thanks again!

The latest version is 1.5.6, updated Feb. 2, 2021(two months old). You probably found a link to MPC-HC, which is the older version. It was abandoned for a while and wasn't supposed to be updated again but it's come back from the dead. Like me.

Ah, that makes more sense, I'll try that instead.

What I found is [Code] so maybe it is sourceforge that is out of date.
