Not to be confused with the reasonably well known 2004 TV movie of the same name starring Keeley Fawcett (she's out of the FLM age-range), this is the rare & obscure original TV series from 1974 starring Juliet Waley. I can find no reference to her age or DOB but I'm willing to bet she meets our criteria. Anyway, in true British tradition there are plenty of other SG's prancing around at odd intervals!
This is a delightful, gentle series & something we Brits do rather well & as such it's TV we can be proud of.

The source for these were VHS rips from TheBox that have been heavily edited. I would have preferred to have left them alone or better still, had access to the source material because quality was not good. Poorly edited, badly cropped with picture edge disturbance, incorrect aspect ratio, low contrast & virtually inaudible audio. Enough said! I even considered messaging the originator but felt that "Any chance you could let me have the source because your rip is shite?" could possibly cause offence. It's not my idea to have 576mb for 27 minutes of VHS rip either, but unfortunately the original filesize dictated that.
Although originally transmitted by the BBC this has been captured from the 1994(?) UK Gold repeats & as such there is a small channel logo present throughout. Commercials have been edited out, some more successfully than others.

There are five episodes in total. I'll simply add to the existing release as I download them & edit.
Please remember, this is a VHS rip of material that is 36 years old & the quality is consistent with that.

I was trying to say that if the rip was shite, why did you consider offending the ripper instead of helping him/her politely to make a better rip?

Of course I wouldn't be so rude as to deliberately offend the ripper......this was another example of me attempting to make a joke when confronted with the daunting prospect of rectifying five files with so many basic faults. Unfortunately my sense of humour seems to have escaped you again.
Never mind, I'm sure someone else will be along soon to offer constructive comments, rather than simply nit-picking & finding fault.

Wow!!

Saw this thread and loaded Ep. 1 into my eMule machine last night, and LO & BEHOLD it had completely d/loaded by this morning!

I previewed it just now and DAMN!: This rip actually looks pretty good compared to what you described, although the first thing I saw when it started was a 'tracking wave', and it brought a flood of memories of bad VHS tapes, lol.. However I didn't notice another one in the next 5 mins I was 'forced' to watch, so THAT'S promising..

As far as the show itself, I was drawn in immediately with the kids singing. As I do music with preschoolers, that's something I LOVE to hear! From what I saw the story looks pretty good. I love the little nuances in each of the children's characters [that had been introduced so far..]; I can't wait for the rest!!

(Oh!! And as far as contacting the original releaser, go ahead & pipe that ruddy bastard a message requesting the source material adding the advice that they need some online courses from 'Loverboy's School of Ripping Made Easy'. Class One: If you're going to make a rip, get your hands outta the crapper! )

Well that's one way of putting it..........not sure even I'd quite go that far though!

This should give you some idea of what I had to deal with, just so that there's no question of me simply making a fuss!
