Thanks! I thought for sure I would say something stupid and someone would post "What the heck are you talking about?" I am certainly no eMule technical expert and can only say what I have observed.

I am pretty sure that link is out-of-date. I am afraid eMule (and our Setup guide) is so old that some things have changed in the years since. Check out this thread here for more information:
https://www.first-loves.com/forums/view ... =69&t=9897

My guess is that you were trying to setup eMule to block some IP addresses? The thread above provides an alternate source that was apparently good in 2014. You can try it.

Personally, I have NEVER set up eMule with any kind of blacklist and have never needed it. If you are new to eMule, do not feel you have to use all its options right away. Get the basics running and then work from there.

Good luck, and feel free to post again here if you have more questions. We'll try to help.

This looks like it is up to date because it has today's date on it when I click the link, but I have never been to this site before.

You can also get server lists at one of the following:
http://www.emule-security.org/serverlist/
http://www.server-met.de/

Are you trying to update your Server list in eMule?

In the "Server" tab of your eMule client, in the box "Update server.met from URL" you can paste the following and click "Update":

Code: Select all

http://upd.emule-security.org/server.met
Or, do you know how to make Desktop Shortcuts? Another way to add working servers to eMule is to create a Shortcut on your desktop with this in the URL box:

ed2k://|serverlist|http://upd.emule-security.org/server.met|/

Once you have made the shortcut, double-click on it to run.

That does not sound good.

The question is, do you have any files in your emule\Temp folder? If you do not and you do not have a backup then I don't think recovery is possible. If there are .part files there, you MAY be able to recover them with MetFileRegenerator:
https://forum.emule-project.net/index.p ... pic=134086

Read it very carefully. Make sure to make a backup of your Temp folder first so if your changes do not work properly, you can go back to your original files.

I have made MetFileRegenerator work to recover missing downloads, but that was only a FEW files, not 300. Sometimes you are required to load the ed2k links back into eMule. I don't know how you can remember anywhere near 300 movies you were trying for.

Another suggestion before you dive in headfirst: wait another day or so for more responses to this thread. I am sure there are some people more expert than I on this issue. I am just the first brave enough to respond.

I hope you can get this fixed.

****
ANYONE: ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS???

1. Avoid running eMule off external drives - many external drives are not designed to be in use all the time.
2. If you copy all the folders you moved back to local HDD/SSD but they are now in different locations, open options -> directories and add the location of the temp and incoming folders and restart eMule.

As long as you still have the files it should be possible to recover the former state.
