@ghost - the time you was not here it was accepted to post an initial http download in case the stuff was nowhere else available - one of us having a premium account was doing the http download, sharing it then on mule and the original http links got edited out later. We got quite some nice stuff this way.

If someone finds a http post of a movie thats isn't available in emule, it's ok for me.

But it seems that gillesvolta uploaded the movie by himself... he also could release it in emule.

There are also a few regular poster that can't use eMule for one reason or another but still contribute this way.

He didn't need to. He has brought over 50 - FIFTY - films and shorts here while you were gone.

He posts eMule links for stuff already there, but his eMule upload is LowID and throttled. Also a lot of his finds are videos from youtube vimeo etc. So what we have worked out as an adjustment to the eMule-only rules is this: if you can't reasonably upload to eMule, or it's a video you can't rip, post the link as a REQ. Almost always someone here will then grab the file if possible and put it on eMule. Phuzzy does a lot of that.

This actually is almost the same as Rich was doing 2 years ago when he'd post 25 new things at a time.

You may say "if he can upload to a filehost he can put it on eMule" but I know through experience that's untrue. Filehost uploads don't get throttled. Another contributor of some great stuff, rousseau, is in the same boat. I spent days PMing back and forth trying to get his router set up properly, we never could get eMule working at all so he uploads to filehosts also.

My whole point of view has been: we've got people who share our interests and want to contribute. Let's find a way to make that possible without erecting barriers, as long as we don't change the fact that the site uses and believes in eMule. OK FLL, i didn't know this agreement. I just wanna avoid, that this forum turnes into a http filehoster site.

Suggestion: if someone is posting in this way, he should mention that he can't use emule in a proper way.

I see no problem just as long as the said topic only becomes a release once an ed2k link for the complete file is posted.
