This movie has been in the works for YEARS; I can't believe she finally ACTUALLY got it made!!

Years ago CiC linked to a 'Mala...' website that had tons of pix from the movie and a lot of information about Eva Ionesco... One thing I remember was an interview with her where she said that she was working on a controversial film that mirrored her childhood...

It seems like it had a different title, and for awhile I think there was even some info. about it on her imdb page..

Never-the-less, here it is at last!!!

Many thanks, augarde, for bringing this to our attention! I will definitely be following this one to it's DVD release!! (Hopefully it will hit some of the local festivals and/or art cinemas.. )

You bet. Her first announcement was for 1999. I still don't believe in this Millenium work...

That's correct. World premiere will be at this years Cannes Film Festival. Hopefully it will then go on to other film festivals.

I also found a short synopsis in English:

Violetta, 10 years old, lives in a small apartment with her grandmother. Her mother, Hannah is an unpredictable photographer who lives off the patronage of her friend Ernst, a famous painter. One day, Hannah forces Violetta to pose as a model. The pictures quickly get hyped up among the Parisian crowd of the 70’s and Violetta gets into the game. In between the frontier of her sudden rise as a new provocative star and her dull childhood, her fairy tale turns into sufferings. A portrait of the 70's and a reflection on the limits of artistic creation.

LOL I don't see what this has to do with the "other" my little princess.
I guess Ionesco changed the title, because it's rather hard to sell a film called
"I’m not a fucking princess" -- which was it's original title.
