trying to find out a name of a film

all i can remember is a girl is murder so the police decide to retrace the steps of the murder girls life by getting a girl who never seen the outside word she always been mental hospital or institution

it sounds familiar,if i'm right the institutionalised girl is her twin sister,though i havent got a clue as to the name.
