Despite their different backgrounds Turkish Yagmur and Danish Vivi have a world in common.
Still, they are both conscious of the difference between the Turkish and Danish cultures and they know that religion will make it hard for them so stay friends as they grow older. Before long, Vivi will go to weekend parties while Yagmur must visit the mosque to study the Koran. They can still go to the swimming baths together, play 'discoteque' and giggle at the boys, but in a few years Yagmur won't be allowed to show herself in a swimsuit. Going to the disco will be out of the question and kissing will have to wait till she gets married. Yagmur is worried that the future may spoil her friendship with Vivi.

This documentary spans around a ethnic danish girl and one of muslim background, that is bestfriends.. They chat and discuss what will happen when Yagmur has to put on headscarf when she reach puberty, and that she can't take part in fellow sport activities as swimming where both girls and boys attend, any longer... As the documentary runs you witness more and more tendencies that something eases up the friendship between Vivi and Yagmur as they grow older...

Yagmur's family is Turkish, Vivi's familiy is Danish. Both of them live in Avedøre Stationsby. They are ten years old, go to school together and are best friends. However, it won't be long before Vivi will be spending her weekends with her friends partying, while Yagmur will be at the mosque studying the Koran. At present, they can still go swimming, play discotheque and giggle at the boys. But in a year or two, Yagmur won't be allowed to wear a swimsuit in public, and going to the disco will be impossible. She has to save all her kisses for the boy she is going to marry. Yagmur dreads the future, which may break up her friendship with Vivi.
