Here is the VHSRip (en) [File]
This file does not exist, or it has been removed. Possible reasons for this are:

The file has not been viewed for 60 days and has expired
The person who uploaded the file has deleted it

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
I just tried it again..works in my side.

Remember VHS is analog. Someone can randomly pick any framerate for the initial digital transfer without changing runtime. If the VHS source was NTSC, then it would have a longer runtime than the PAL DVD.

...

UPDATE:
I downloaded the torrent for the VHS and compared it to ghost's upscale from the German DVD. I could instantly hear that the opening music for the VHS is slower. It is sourced from an NTSC tape and that is why it is longer.

Thanks for your knowledge & insight, night!

@deadman had shared the US (ntsc) dvd. Have we done a comparison between the German and US dvd?s? I know in *some* cases the differences were big. Usually PAL is better but deadman has also posted various cases where the PAL dvd (Source) was inferior to the ntsc source

Edit: so @deadman had the US NTSC dvd and Greek dvd I assume. German dvd us just 1hour instead of 1,5hour in duration. (And all other German dvd releases are also heavily cut):
Ihave both the NTSC and PAL versions, and this is one of the rare examples of an NTSC release with better video quality. Probably the PAL version was simply re-encoded from it. That seems to be the case quite often with DVDs from Greece. I have no idea why. Anyhow, I've posted the better looking version.

If perchance Deadman or somebody else does share the PAL German DVD, could they do it as an ISO so that the special features are included too? I understand the German release has more/different production stills than the NTSC American version. Pwitty pwease...? :pray

I Second The Request for a full German DVD ISO.

Funnily this German dvd is only 1h long and apparently heavily cut: https://www.amazon.de/Black-Emanuelle-D ... B000PKG9EG

I agree, the extras of the German DVDs would be interesting: outtakes, BTS, stills etc

Was anybody else initially confused about the ending of the beach love scene between Livia and Mike? :think

The way it ends could be interpreted to mean that the characters had sex off-camera, and the first time I watched the film I thought this was the intended interpretation, that while they were showing Livia nude they were going to play it safe with any hanky-panky and put it off-screen. However, once I got to the latter scene between Livia and the hitman Mario and saw how utterly unambiguous and complete that scene was  , I concluded that had Mike and Livia been intended to be understood to have made love in the prior scene, it definitely would have been shown in its entirety, and that they did no more than we actually saw (or at least nothing of significance).

Or am I wrong?

I think you're wrong - although it's possible such a scene was filmed and then cut, when they watched it and decided this was a little too much to try to cram past the censors. Spreading bribes around can get awfully expensive! 8-)

Livia and her boyfriend were both fully naked in that sunset scene by the ocean. The implication is that they made love but we didn't get to see. When she's assaulted later on, actor Haris Tryfonas unzips his pants but doesn't pull them down far enough. It's still pretty damn explicit. He puts his hands and mouth all over her body, but there's no actual sex. They went right up to the line and stopped just short of crossing it. You would never get away with filming a scene like that today though! My eyes were bulging out of my head the first time I watched it.

If so, it's a pity the scene was cut! ;)

I wonder what the consensus opinion is on what happened or didn't happen off-screen - maybe I should make a poll?

You don't take everything off just to stand there and watch the sun set. :biggrin
