Does it work with rented films? Most apps won't download them.

Is the uloz version the same thing as the vimeo file, with hard burned Russian subs, or did someone re-encode the vimeo file to add them? I would love to find an amzn web-dl quality file for this movie - if they're not going to release a blu-ray (which they should!). You said you've downloaded it, Ghost. How large was the file? Was it an improvement, and did it have the hardburned subs or was it clean?

I've rented a few movies from Vimeo and have always been able to easily download them like free videos. There wasn't any difference.

i rented it about two years ago, so I can't remember the file size. I only used the audio track and deleted it. I guess it was about 3 oder 4 Gigs.

Ah, so it obviously wasn't a big improvement visually or you would have kept it. That's what I really wanted to know.

No. And I was annoyed by the hardsubs.

What's bad about the HDTV-rip? It's in 1080p and I didn't notice compression artefacts.

I’ve talked about this with ghost before. Apparently he never encountered an issue with rented videos. Maybe he/we were lucky til now In that the owners of the uploads didn’t force or enable DRM which I think Vimeo-on-demand also offers. Although I doubt streamfab wouldn’t be able to handle the drm.

But for now ytdlp and videoDownloadHelper addon seem to work.

Always looking for better versions of movies. A 9 GB amzn web-dl file would be an improvement if one existed, and a bluray of course even more so.

Yes, maybe I was just lucky til now. I just can say, that I never had a DRM protected rental video on Vimeo.
