Looking for 2 movie titles

Those were most likely TV movies, so they most likely never made it in VHS or DVD.

One of the movie is Australian. The other maybe from Australia or New Zealand. The were both made probably in the early 1990s give or take. I don't remember much about the movies but i give you what i remember.

One was a time machine travel. A grandfather build a time machine in his garage or shed and goes back the 19th century Australia to mine gold. His grandson finds the device and tries to go back to get him. The teenager meets a girl and for some reason i don't remember, brings her back to modern day. They finally bring the girl back as she didn't like the noise and modern cars and they find the grandfather. It must be close to Christmas, because at the end of the movie the grandfather dress up as Santa Claus but with shorts saying how warm it is here. He gives the gold he found to his wife.

The second movie is a group of teenagers. I think 3 or 4 guys and one girl. They were planning on going on hot balloon ride, when an accident happen and they got trapped in it all alone heading to a storm. They landed on an island loaded with pirates from a different era. The only way to escape was through this pirate ship which was probably from the same era as the pirates. They finally escape and sailed on the ship to modern coast of Australia or New Zealand.

Anyway both movies has some love attractions between the teenagers and the girl but not fully expressed. The first movie, you have to read between the lines to get it.

Anyway I haven't watch those movies in over 25 years, so my memories aren't very clear on many details.
