I had that with the girl who was in Matchstick Men, with Nicolas Cage, way back when Nicolas Cage still was good in movies. Just for kicks, download that one view the first 30 minutes, and tell me how old you think the girl is. Spoiler alert-ish: she is a tat older than 14... but how much?
You can then look it up, of course. Mind. Blown.

Torrent it here

Or here

or eMule it:

But that version might be in Spanish, so:

Hey, don't diss Nic Cage!!!

He is still good in movies, but only about 1 out of every 20. I really liked him in "Pig". I think he is like Klaus Kinski / Rutger Hauer / Bruce Willis were, doing tons of crap to pay the bills. When they were motivated and given good writers, they could give good performances.

Totally off-topic, sorry. I'll go away now.

I think I came to that realization when I became preoccupied by mentally cataloguing movies I could recall with cute girls in them(we all need hobbies, right? :? ) It is pretty shocking! Also, I agree w/ Night, he seems to take anything offered to him, some are unique and interesting, some are really, really bad.

:D :D :D :D Very off topic, gents! eyes on the prize. Focus!
But I have a more favorable opinion of Cage, just in the last few years his movies are kinda crap. I don't mean low brow stuff, but high or low brow movies which are bad in their respective browness.

That happens to many actors, after winning the Oscar or reaching the peak of fame, they start making commercial films and they are never the same again.

The issue with Cage is that he's had financial problems for a long time, tax stuff and spending crazy money on stupid shit, like $250k on a dinosaur skull that turned out to be stolen from China and had to be returned, so he does just about any film that comes along simply to keep the money coming in.

250K? he makes that in a week! What other money trouble is he in? You'd expect that a grown man would know to not spend more than he has.... weird.

He bought loads of property when he was at the height of his earning power and then as I recall owed masses of tax on them and in other ways because he was really dumb with money, had to sell most of the properties, some of them at a loss, to help pay what he owed, and continues to struggle financially (compared to what he earns, if not compared to us more ordinary people)

Just watched this a couple of weeks ago...

When you first see Farrah MacKenzie as Rose, gazing absently out a car window, she DOES look pretty young. But as the movie went on she began to look older and older. Her acting at times was a bit wooden [not much expression], but that might have been more of a script issue. It kind of worked for me, though.. And her obsession with 'Friends'..

The movie plays out like a downbeat drama with some odd apocalyptic occurrences thrown in. You have to stick with it to see where it goes; which, literally and figuratively, was not far.. ;) But, then, there is sweet [ ] Rose.

Overall, I wish it had spent more time dealing with how the family's circumstances were affecting HER rather than on the other characters. Their lives were pretty damn tedious and *meh* for me. (But that's just me..) ...AND the fact that I didn't feel like anyone gained any real insights about themselves: They were all pretty much the same at the end as they were when the film started..

Oddly enough, when the end of the movie came, I KNEW it was the end but was hoping for it NOT to be ONLY because I wanted to see more Rose... It's not that she was the most gorgeous child; I just found her character immensely intriguing.

Worth a watch if there's nothing better on or if you like tedious, introspective, life-has-got-to-have-some-deeper-meaning dramas.. :|

(Like my review:) *meh*... :P
