Goku, are you saying that the AI apologized for its mistake? Do you think it was sincere? Or just being polite to avoid hard feelings? Did it admit that it is an out-and-out LIAR, or was it just compounding its lie with the claim that it was a "mistake"?

Did you manage to figure out the name of the show by another means? If it is an FLM-type show maybe you can ask somewhere here. Some of these folks seem to have long memories.

I was hoping deadman would comment in this thread, because after looking I saw that the problem seems to be with his ChatGPT subtitles. As far as I can tell, the subtitles in the section Jacen specified (54m50s~1h19m) seem to be for a different part of the movie! They are not close to either the timing or the dialog in that section. I do not know whether it is a failure of the AI to pay attention to the timing, or if there was a problem with deadman's copy-paste of different portions.

The original Slovenian subtitles and my "Cringe Google Translate" English subtitles are basically in sync. viewtopic.php?p=116455#p116455 The translation itself surely needs improvements. I have not watched the movie yet. After comparison I see that deadman's translation goes BACK into sync for the time periods 01:02:32 - 01:07:43 and then reverts to being wrong for the rest of Jacen's listed problem time period.

IMDB says that Irena Kranjc was Born June 4, 1961.

If they filmed in summer 1977 (when school was not in session?) they could reasonably have it finished for release in early 1978.

I was all set to respond but Night beat me to it, literally while I was composing my reply.

The only thing I would add here is that SC gets ages wrong with some frequency. Mainly due to going by year of birth and year of release, instead of the exact date of birth and the filming dates. Recently I noticed actress Rosa Marchant was listed as being 12 in the movie Het Smelt (2023). Her character is 12, and she really does look it, but she was actually 16. The site is remarkably good with the scenes themselves - details, time codes, and sometimes interesting behind the scenes info, but don't take actor ages at face value. If you really want to know then verify with other sources.

As for the subtitles ... ChatGPT is more erratic than I thought. While attempting to fix the sync issue I ran into multiple problems. It shifted the lines of dialogue by 1 - that is, timecodes were accurate but for example the text from line 500 was appearing in line 501 instead. After 519 for some odd reason it started dropping the timecodes from each line entirely. It also halted at one point like it was finished. I asked why it stopped (in the 570s somewhere) and it replied that this seemed like a natural point to pause the dialogue (???). So the first time through ChatGPT may have started altering the timecodes at the point where it goes out of sync. An obvious statement we tend to forget sometimes: AI is not completely reliable.

I'll try fixing the subs by copying and pasting the correct timecodes manually (the translations themselves seem okay). This will be a bit tedious and take some time though. I think if I use GPT for this again I'll translate a handful of lines at a time rather than uploading a whole document. It'll take longer but give me more control over the process to make sure it doesn't get botched.

To be fair, if filming had started not long after her 16th birthday, the characters age is 15, and seeing certain parts of her anatomy that were on show during the shower scene, i'd say she'd pass for 15.

when you say "verify with other sources" do you mean the members of this fine site, who seem to have a wealth of knowlege when it comes to actresses ages.
