(I may mock the idea, but I have done the same thing in desperation with difficult syncs.)
Results can vary, but the tool I use for automatic syncing, alass, lets you sync a subtitle file by another subtitle file instead of a video. It's really helpful when you have a Blu-ray that only has non-English subtitles but there are English subtitles available for a different version

I had not heard of alass... and found it was COMMAND LINE software!! I think that is beyond me for what I need for subtitles, I really really need the GUI to see the subtitles rather than remotely command them. I do many kinds of edits and manipulations beyond just the sync. Anyway, I also frequently sync one subtitle with one that is already synced using SubtitleEdit. It is definitely a very useful technique.

It's actually pretty simple, at least for me who never uses command line except for this. It's just opening the command line, navigating to the where the .bat file is, and then for example, with two subtitle files in the same folder, running a command like "alass nonenglish.srt english.srt" and it gets a pretty close approximation. I'd have to check, but I believe a similar tool, subsync, can do the same thing but it does have a GUI.

But why does a story on this subject necessarily have to end badly ? It's a shame that Disney didn't produce the film  .

And I don't congratulate Imdb with his downright off-topic and misleading summary !

A single scene with the 2 actresses is a bit short :( , especially to tell a love story...

For French speakers, here are some subtitles ;) .

Right! I know that I like it when things end well at least some of the time. Yet I still need the depressing stories to make the more hopeful ones worthwhile and not the expected and obligatory cliché.

Then it would be something like Fucking Åmål (1998). ;) Keep the story Scandinavian but leave out the ice palace, and give it a happy ending. They are almost the same movie, right?

But oh, I am just imagining something on too small a scale. An actual Disney film would want to keep the ice palace as extravagant effects work, with everyone's cold breath CGI'd in like Titanic, because I can't see a Disney production filming in a Norwegian winter. "Everyone, ACT as if you are cold!"

Strange that the Blu-ray has English subtitles, which suggests that they are open to selling it to people outside of Norway. Perhaps they want to encourage tourism? I did not find it on eBay or Amazon of various countries. A full BluRay Remux might show up on Usenet or private torrent sites.

There is a new torrent, 3.33Gb VERIFIED.

EDIT: the torrent file is GHOST'S newest video + optional internal Russian subtitles + optional internal ghost's English subtitles.

There is a new torrent, 3.33Gb NOT VERIFIED. From the size and name it looks like it is probably the same as ghost's eMule file:
