Well, this has been frustrating. Apparently AnyDVD did not store codes automatically on your system - only keys from AACS revisions I actually accessed while redfox's online database was working are retained. Since I never put in a disc using v81 (the latest) it won't work on those discs. I tried another program called xreveal, which uses a key database you can download and keep updated manually. It still didn't work. After contacting support at xreveal they said I needed the original, physical disc in order to get a code called the VID - which is apparently left out when you just copy the encrypted files. From that they can determine the key value. I assume there's a way I could do it myself, but I would still need the actual disc. Their only suggestion was that I simply wait until the code becomes available as part of the regularly updated public keydb (that file I mentioned before). That could be soon, or it might take a while.
The only other alternative I can see is DVDFab's Passkey. But I've seen enough warnings from users who say it's crap - Chinese companies may be unhindered by US and EU copyright laws, but ... they're Chinese companies selling Chinese products. Consumer beware!
I never bothered learning the mechanics of AACS bluray copy protection because I never needed to. I miss redfox! The program just worked in the background and I never had to think about it. The good news: it's unlikely the industry will ever be able to stop people from sharing keys and ripping discs. The bad news: it's going to be a more maintenance intensive task, and keys may not be available right away on new releases.
I'm sorry I made you upload the whole .iso for nothing. But you might be able to decrypt it, if you install xreveal and load the disc. If it doesn't work you can provide their support people with that VID and they'll send you the code. If you want, you can then send it to me and I'll upload the decrypted .iso so you don't have to do it all over again. I know that takes you a while and ties up your phone. I can do it faster.
