If you mean movies or series that are sourced from streaming services, YES. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice and comment on the 'disappearance' of the category. Congratulations! I am very pleased that an FLM Oldtimer said something.

Explanation:
Spoiler:

The description of the "Shorts" Subforum used to be worded differently:
Earlier this year I convinced Administration to change the wording of "Shorts" to reflect simply the length of the film vs. a feature.
["Short Films (Under 40 Minutes, All Countries)"]

My argument was: "I realized that it has been a long time since anyone cared whether or not a movie was on a streaming site rather than any other site, because that would include almost everything online at one time or another!" It is true that some movies/series originate on streaming sites in their quest for content they can own as well as stream, but I do not think that content is substantially different than theatrical movies. TV Series I have been moving to the main subforums of features by country on the theory that one episode of a series might be "short" but an entire series is definitely not. So a Disney+ series or a Netflix movie can be categorized by country like everything else. You put this one exactly where I would put it.

If I misunderstand you and you mean something else, I don't know the answer.

I've never seen Star Wars (and I'm not sure I want to...)
Is the series accessible to me or am I at risk of not understanding anything about it?

Thanks for the clarification. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Yes, that is what I meant. So this is the right forum, then?

It's a standalone 8 episode series I believe. You don't need to know anything about Star Wars. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. Except for the games. If a kid with an Elephant head doesn't scare you, give it a watch.

Nice. One of my pet peeves with most of the movies was that they were basically re-hashing the same story lines.

I like how they now make completely different shows story- and feeling wise, that just happen to be set in the Star Wars Universe.

You've never seen a single Star Wars movie???! :o

Wow. You've really been avoiding it, haven't you? Well no - you don't really need to know that much because the kids themselves (coming from an isolated planet) are pretty clueless about the wider universe. If you've really never seen a single Star Wars property, a Jedi is like a samurai - but with telekinetic abilities and a laser sword. The galaxy was formerly ruled by a fascist Empire which was toppled in a rebellion some years before this series starts. Unless you've avoided all sci-fi you know what hyperdrives are. Everything else you can learn along with the characters.

Galaxies have at least several hundred billion star systems in them. You'd expect most of those worlds to be unknown to most of the others, or just trivial entries in their database. This is one huge fictional setting to tell almost any kind of story you want.

No spoilers here but I do talk vaguely about the plot:

I enjoyed this show for what it was-- a fairly lighthearted kid friendly star wars adventure. I thought jude law's character arc didn't quite work but I could see what they were going for and it seems like they might not get more seasons but if they had they could've maybe did more with the character.

I enjoyed the pirate theme. I guess thats where the "goonies in space" thing came from, but movies back then had more of an edge to them and the show really had no bite beyond a few threats of pretty harsh violence. I think the appeal of something like the goonies is when the kids are crass or perverted or rude in some way kids see that and think "that's how me and my friends play and joke around but they're doing it on an actual adventure." Its like writers are terrified to put anything challenging at all in a show aimed at kids. But that could just be a problem for this show as I'm not an expert on modern day things kids watch.

All that being said, it was still fun. Had a few fun characters and set pieces. I liked the Droid. I like that it mostly stayed away from direct jedi stuff and did its own things. Jude law does put in a great performance and while I didn't love the characters arc, for most of the journey he was great.

Id maybe say 7/10 but pretty close to a 6 for me. Id watch a season 2 if it came out.

it's been confirmed Disney won't do a season 2. They are floating it to other studios though. Unlikely though.
